All You Did for the 50th: Tribute to CBS/Paramount

Description

I'm a big Star Trek fan...and even though I prefer classic Trek to the TNG version or the Kelvin Timeline movies.... I must say I feel pretty disgusted about how Paramount and CBS chose to celebrate this once in history anniversary..... for a failed show that rose from the dead and became a phenomenon.... and the catalyst for every media convention on the planet, seems to me they have done little or nothing to share with us. Sure we have Star Trek Beyond... it was ok... but hardly something I think celebrates the milestone. Sure we have Star Trek Discovery...sometime not this year.

I think the biggest pity is they worked hard and had passion for the lawsuit against Axanar productions. Sure maybe they went too far, cuz other fan films were left unmolested...but for how long. Sooner or later it would be Star Trek Continues... or New Voyages...or someone else. It's getting easier and easier to make a fan film, and the neutral zone between fan film and professional film is getting slimmer.... but I still see the whole thing as an attack on fans.

So, as i work on some STAR TREK fan art and such for the occassion (Yes even I am a little late) here is my tribute to CBS/Paramount... I call it "All you did for the 50th" enjoy.

Fuck Axanar.  Just because they're fans, it doesn't mean anything they do in the name of fandom, including making a profit off an IP they don't own, is okay.  They messed up fan films for everyone else... not that most fans care about fan films anyway, except for a tiny percentage.

I can't say I'm not a little disappointed they didn't do more for the 50th like Doctor Who did a couple years ago, but then again, it was a bit easier for Doctor Who, seeing that their franchise was not dormant at the time.
